Role Overview:
Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Controls Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing automation and control systems for complex, world-first projects. You will work with multi-platform PLCs, HMIs, vision systems, integrated motion, and robotic programming, ensuring that all systems meet Australian safety standards..
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement automation and control systems.
- Work with multi-platform PLCs, primarily Rockwell, and HMIs.
- Integrate vision systems and motion control into automation projects.
- Develop electrical schematics and select appropriate components.
- Stay up to date with the latest industry communication protocols and technologies.
- Manage projects from concept to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.
- Mentor and teach junior engineers, fostering their growth and development.
- Ensure all designs comply with Australian safety standards and AS4024 requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
Requirements:
- 5-10 years of industry experience in automation and control systems.
- Proficiency in multi-platform PLCs
- Experience with HMI development and vision systems integration.
- Knowledge of integrated motion control and robotic programming (KUKA, ABB).
- Strong understanding of electrical schematic development and component selection.
- Up-to-date knowledge of industry communication protocols.
- Project management experience is desirable
- Ability to manage projects from start to finish independently.
- Experience in teaching and mentoring junior engineers.
- Expertise in designing systems that meet Australian safety standards and AS4024 requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
- Certification in Rockwell Automation products.
