Safety Advisor

The Role: (Residential Position - Regional Ontario) - Opportunity for an experienced Safety Advisor to join a high performing team with an established, mid-tier mining company. Work across 3 active mine sites and 2 processing facilities ensuring that best practices are followed to help mitigate accidents.

Must be willing to relocate, and experience with underground mining operations, incident reporting and health & hygiene related matters is highly regarded.

Reports to: Senior Safety Advisor
Site/Team size: 1000 at site - H&S team of 5

Core responsibilities

• Health & Safety responsibilities at large mining operation
• Be a safety presence in the field
• Site safety improvement plans
• Promote and lead a zero harm work culture
• Health & Safety training and assurance to site employees
• Incident investigation and corrective actions
• Health & hygiene investigations and reporting
• Facilitating site safety audits
• Compliance with federal and provincial regulations
• Maintenance of safety systems

Requirements:

• Health, Safety & Hygiene experience in an underground mining environment
• Experience operating in a heavy industrial setting
• Workplace investigations
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Mining hazard identification
• Familiar with Ontario federal regulations
