Our client is a global engineering group specialising in mining and rock excavation, metal-cutting and materials technology, and they are looking for a Project Manager.

Due to the decision to construct a new state of art facility in Sudbury, Ontario our client is looking for a Project manager to join their Division in Canada, and lead the project. This exciting opportunity will require someone who can design and construct the project and act as the company's representative with all stakeholders.

In this Project Manager position you will also be responsible for:

  • Coordinating the design and Construction with the consultants and contractors engaged in the projects.
  • Defining and securing the conformance of the detailed governance model for the project.
  • Delivering the project on time and within budget, as per the project specifications (quality).
  • Managing and securing the timely delivery and quality of the design input from stakeholders.
  • Representing the company towards all external parties involved in the project in cooperation with the relevant procurement expertise.
  • Taking the lead in the project, call for, chair and document all meetings, follow up on agreed actions with all parties.
  • Handling monthly project reporting to the Project Steering Group (PSG), including cost follow up and forecasting.
  • Planning for and coordinating the transition of current business operations from old location(s) to the new facility and ramp up of business operations on the new site and close the existing site(s).

Essentials

  • 5 - 10 years' global project management experience within mining/heavy engineering.
  • Currently working in, or have previously, worked in Sudbury.
  • Designed and constructed manufacturing facilities/workshops.
  • Managed projects of $20m+
