We are seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead our dairy manufacturing facility and oversee all aspects of production, quality, and operational efficiency. In this role, you will be responsible for driving productivity, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The Plant Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize processes, meet production goals, and deliver high-quality products in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality control, and logistics to ensure smooth and efficient daily operations.
- Develop and implement production strategies that align with company goals, ensuring consistent quality and timely delivery of products.
- Lead and mentor a team of department supervisors and staff, fostering a collaborative and performance-driven culture.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards, including OSHA, FDA, and industry-specific guidelines, conducting regular audits and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Monitor plant performance metrics, analyzing data to identify areas for improvement in productivity, efficiency, and cost management.
- Manage the plant budget, controlling costs, optimizing resource allocation, and driving cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
- Collaborate with R&D, quality assurance, and supply chain teams to support new product launches, process improvements, and effective inventory management.
- Develop and maintain preventive maintenance programs, working with the maintenance team to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, or other process optimization methodologies to enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Food Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of plant management experience, preferably in dairy or food manufacturing.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to manage, develop, and inspire cross-functional teams.
- In-depth knowledge of production and manufacturing processes, with a focus on quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Proficiency with ERP and manufacturing software systems.
- Ability to work flexible hours as required to support production needs.
