We are seeking an experienced and versatile Mechanical Engineering professional to join large cement and aggregates producer and their site site in Central East site. This key leadership position reports to the Maintenance Manager and will focus on enhancing asset reliability, improving mechanical maintenance processes, managing costs, and driving overall operational efficiency.

Role Overview:

As the subject matter expert in mechanical engineering, asset upkeep, and repair strategies, you will lead a skilled team of mechanical engineers and tradespeople to ensure all systems run optimally.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Foster a strong safety culture, advocating for site safety protocols, ensuring compliance across the team, and leading investigations when necessary.

  • Ensure maintenance procedures, mechanical systems, and assets align with environmental standards and regulations on site.

  • Build and maintain a high-performing, technically proficient, and collaborative mechanical reliability and maintenance team.

  • Implement effective risk management processes to identify and address plant-related issues.

  • Explore opportunities to enhance plant performance, drive continuous improvements, and maximize maintenance cost efficiency.

  • Manage the lifecycle of mechanical assets and oversee capital replacement projects.

  • Completion of team-led projects.

  • Balance safety, budget, timeline, and resources to ensure work is delivered effectively.

About You:

To succeed in this role, you will bring substantial experience in mechanical engineering and heavy industry maintenance, ideally from cement and aggregates operations.

Additional qualifications and experience required:

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering.

  • Proven track record in a similar maintenance leadership role within a heavy industrial, transport, manufacturing, or mining environment

  • Strong ability to influence, build relationships, and negotiate with various stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated success in delivering complex projects.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in CMMS systems

  • Project Management qualification preferred.

  • In-depth knowledge of condition-based maintenance strategies and methodologies.
