đŠī¸ GNC Engineer - Electric Aviation & eVTOL Systems (USA) đŠī¸
đ Location: California
đŧ Full-Time
đ Experience: Mid to Senior Level
As a GNC Engineer, you'll develop the core algorithms and control logic that enable safe, stable, and efficient flight - from vertical takeoff to forward cruise and autonomous landing. You'll collaborate across flight software, avionics, and airframe design teams to ensure seamless integration of guidance and control strategies.
Your work will directly influence aircraft performance, safety, and certification.
Design and implement algorithms for guidance, navigation, flight control, and trajectory planning
Develop simulation environments and model dynamics of multirotor and fixed-wing hybrid aircraft
Work closely with sensor fusion, state estimation, and autopilot teams
Support flight testing, including tuning control laws and analyzing flight data
Ensure real-time performance, stability, and robustness of flight control systems
Participate in safety analysis and compliance with aviation standards (DO-178C, DO-254, etc.)
Bachelor's or Master's in Aerospace Engineering, Robotics, Controls, or a related field
3+ years of experience in GNC algorithm development for UAVs, drones, or aircraft systems
Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, Python, and C/C++ for embedded systems
Strong understanding of control theory, dynamics, and real-time implementation
Experience with inertial navigation, GPS integration, and sensor fusion
Familiarity with flight test operations and post-flight analysis
Background in eVTOL, rotorcraft, or hybrid-electric propulsion systems
Experience with nonlinear control, adaptive control, or model predictive control (MPC)
Familiarity with PX4/ArduPilot or custom flight control firmware
Exposure to FAA certification processes or airworthiness standards
