As a recruiter working on behalf of a client with multiple manufacturing sites across the region, I am seeking an experienced Plant Manager for a hands-on, executive leadership role focused on driving operational excellence.

  • Directly responsible for manufacturing operations and support functions within the site.
  • Emphasis on safety, quality, efficiency, and financial profitability.
  • Lead through a culture of performance monitoring, open communication, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure operational success by achieving the organization's mission and objectives.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 5+ years leading a manufacturing site or team of 100+ staff in food/bakery operations.
  • Education: Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Food Technology, or Baking.
  • Certifications:
    • IOSH Managing Safely
    • Food Safety Level 3 (Intermediate/Supervising)
    • HACCP Level 2

Key Responsibilities

  • Health & Safety: Ensure full compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Quality Control: Minimize food safety and quality complaints using QA, TQM, and audit tools.
  • Process Optimization:
    • Drive improvements through 5S process and Good Manufacturing Practices.
    • Ensure manufacturing cost variances are controlled and improved.
  • Production Efficiency:
    • Meet site OEE targets.
    • Increase units per man-hour and reduce energy/utility usage per saleable tonne.
  • Maintenance:
    • Lead maintenance for reduced downtime using preventive and predictive techniques.
  • Communication: Regularly update teams on KPIs in Safety, Production, Quality, and Maintenance.
