Electrical Engineer - Food

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare concept designs and cost estimates for Electrical Distribution & Controls Systems for projects in the Annual Capital Plan.
• Implement the Annual Capital Plan in your specific area of responsibility, ensuring minimal plant downtime while completing projects on time and within budget.
• Perform detailed calculations to establish standards and specifications for electrical distribution systems.
• Inspect installations and observe operations to ensure compliance with electrical design, equipment specifications, and safety standards.
• Provide ongoing support to the Operations Team for Control Systems upgrades, modifications, training, and service needs.
• Maintain documentation for all Control Systems and electrical schematics in production plants.
• Maximize the effectiveness of Electrical Contractors by maintaining daily interaction with crew leaders and using well-defined project scoping. Ensure contractors adhere to company security, safety, and good manufacturing practices.
• Communicate weekly with Production teams through transition meetings to provide updates on project status, schedules, and capital issues.
• Coordinate electrical system reliability with the local electrical utility provider.
• Demonstrate proficiency in computer and network design/troubleshooting.
• Problem-solve and troubleshoot as needed.
• Provide support and training for the electrical distribution system.
• Use computer-assisted engineering software (AutoCAD) to perform engineering tasks.

What You Will Need

• A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and 7 years of electrical engineering experience.
• The ability to lead contract labor and in-house resources outside of your direct influence.
• Experience working with Microsoft Office Software (such as Outlook) and electrical engineering software.
• A strong working knowledge of electrical code requirements.
• Expertise in process control systems hardware and software.
• An understanding of electrical distribution systems and electrical design for plants.
• A solid grasp of electrical manufacturing processes.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
