ACCOUNT MANAGER - MINING - Gladstone, Australia

Are you experienced in both developing existing accounts and generating new business?

We are working with a global, $multibillion client who design, manufacture and sell an offering of hardware, software, and service to the construction, mining, and heavy industry. They invest approximately 7% of sales into R&D each year to meet customer demand and cover the entire value-added chain. They pride themselves on their strong onboarding process and L&D support. Due to growth within the APAC region, they are looking for an Account Manager - Mining to be based in Gladstone, Australia.

This Account Manager - Mining role will report to the National Sales Manager Australia and be responsible for establishing and maintaining clients, new and existing, within the mining industry in the Gladstone region.

Key functions for this Account Manager - Mining are:

  • Generating new business across the mining industry within the region, selling hardware, software, and services.
  • Developing key relationships and business with existing accounts and identify new business opportunities.
  • Effectively liaising with relevant members of the wider company in selling and implementing core solutions to the VIP customer portfolio.
  • Communicating to the sales teams, the key accounts team, and other relevant members of the wider team, and actively encourage return communication on a regular basis.
  • Attending monthly team sales meetings and provide feedback on account base.
  • Handling multiple stakeholders at different levels.
  • Effective planning to maximise productivity and customer-facing time.
  • Actively supporting and implementing new marketing initiatives.
  • Recording and updating the company CRM to provide accurate data in terms of integrity and quality.
  • Communication of and adherence to the work Health and Safety policy, procedure and follow up information.

Essential requirements are:

  • Previous sales experience within Gladstone.
  • Business development experience within the mining/heavy industry.
  • Experience of developing existing accounts and generating new business.
  • Right to work in Australia.
