The life science recruitment team at CSG Talent not only have vast knowledge and experience of the hiring and recruitment process, but they also continually build their knowledge of the life science industry and up to date market insights. This in-depth awareness allows the team to understand the complexities of what businesses like Cure Ventures do and the core accountabilities and duties of roles across a breadth of business functions. The team are positioned to know not only the skillset and experience required for the roles, but to know that both candidate and business align in terms of culture and values.
A life science expert at CSG Talent initially presented a senior level candidate he believed to have both the relevant industry experience and an individual who he thought would be an excellent team fit for Cure Ventures. Following a successful candidate introduction, Cure Ventures engaged with CSG Talent’s expert Life Science Recruitment team to support with the hire of two senior level appointments, a CEO and a CMO Consultant.
Unlike other hiring challenges our clients experience, Cure Ventures were already gaining good traction with their own recruitment efforts which had attracted high quality candidates, so while they were open to working with CSG Talent, they were keen to see if the candidates the team presented were of the same calibre, and stronger.
Cure Ventures were keen to attract talent with experience in gene therapy and ophthalmology, at CSG Talent we have a large Life Science division with a number of specialist recruiters covering individual verticals across life science and diagnostics. This meant, the team were able to reach a much wider network of suitable candidates for the roles at Cure Ventures by not only tapping into their own candidate pool, but the large specialist candidate pools across the rest of the team.
The life science recruitment team deliver at pace, with high attention to detail in the service they provide both clients and candidates. In less than a week, initial shortlists were presented for both roles at Cure Ventures. The life science recruitment team find their best approach for candidate introductions for roles is to present as and when initial conversations have been had about the opportunity, rather than waiting to compile a shortlist of candidates for a set date.
This approach can help move the process along quicker for both client and candidate, and as a result can gain more commitment from the candidate who may have other opportunities in the pipeline. In a candidate short market, businesses like Cure Ventures appreciate this approach to allow them to interview high calibre talent in a timely manner, without the risk of losing them as a result of lengthy recruitment processes.
All candidates presented to Cure Ventures were invited to the first stage of interviews, highlighting the high quality and relevant industry experience.
Clients like Cure Ventures see huge value in our flexibility and ability to tailor our approach to suit business needs. Our team appreciate that no recruitment process is the same, this is where it’s incredibly important to demonstrate how we can adapt to individual business needs and goals, which all vary dependent on a number of factors such as size, location, culture, niche sector etc.
Business Manager in Life Sciences at CSG Talent highlights the importance of consulting clients throughout the hiring process; "I think being supportive throughout the interview process is important. Being more than just CV sender but organising interviews, offer negotiations, market mapping, advice and a truly consultative approach."
We asked Harry Aaronson, Business Manager in Life Sciences at CSG Talent what he believes are the key elements of his hiring strategy which add the most value to Cure Ventures and other clients he supports with talent attraction:
“I’m inspired by the opportunity to connect individuals with positions that align perfectly with their skills, aspirations, and passions. Witnessing the fulfilment in candidates when they secure a role that not only matches their qualifications but also resonates with their personal and professional goals is incredibly rewarding.”
Pace is important to us when delivering on recruitment assignments for our clients. We aim to provide shortlists to clients as and when we source and have initial conversations about job opportunities. Having a strong network of c-level candidates within pharma and biotech is also key to being a great recruitment partner. Understanding the clients needs not just in terms of experience but with regards to a cultural fit and alignment with business goals, vision and values.
We'd love to hear from you, whether you require support with your talent acquisition, are looking to make a career move, or are interested in working at CSG.
